NXT North American Championship Match Set For WWE NXT Worlds Collide

NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes closed out the August 30 edition of WWE NXT 2.0 to address his lack of an opponent at Worlds Collide. During the segment, Ricochet interrupted and made it known he was prepared to challenge for a title he once held. Their conversations turned physical as Ricochet laid out both Trick Williams and Hayes to close the show.

Ricochet was the second NXT North American Champion after he beat Adam Cole in August 2018. He held the title until January 2019 when he lost it to Johnny Gargano. He has been a member of the main roster since 2019, and he has captured the WWE United States Championship. He currently competes on WWE SmackDown.

Hayes is a two-time North American Champion and has held the title since June, when he defeated Cameron Grimes at In Your House.
