Five Reasons Why We Love Yandy Smith

Yandy Smith with Juelz Santana

Yandy Smith rose to reality TV fame as a cast member of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop (New York).  The show, which focuses on the lives of several people within the hip hop industry, is well-known for airing out many of its cast members’ dirty laundry.  During the show’s second season, New York native Yandy Smith joined the show’s cast as Dipset rapper, Jim Jones’ manager.  Although Jones is no longer a part of the show, Smith is now part of the main cast and become one of the show’s most likable characters.  Now in her fourth season on the show, Yandy’s bubbly personality and knack for avoiding trouble are just two of the things that have helped separate her from the rest of the cast.  Here are five reasons why we love Yandy Smith.

5. Yandy Smith is a good mother.

Currently a mother of one, with another on the way, Yandy has shown that she is a very good mother to not only her son, but her step-son as well.  Yandy seems to be taking motherhood very seriously, and while many reality TV stars will one day have to explain their bad on-screen behavior to their children, Yandy has done a pretty decent job or crafting a positive image.

4. Yandy Smith is loyal to the people she loves.

During Love and Hip Hop’s last season, Yandy’s fiancee, Mendeecees Harris, was jailed following accusations of drug trafficking.  However, even with her man in jail, Yandy continued to be his support system, and even continued spending time with his young son, little Mendeecees.

3. Yandy Smith is honest.

The cast of Love and Hip Hop has become infamous for backstabbing one another in the name of more camera time.  However, Yandy has become a fan favorite because of her ability to remain honest and neutral even during some of the show’s most dramatic moments.

2. Yandy Smith is a smart business woman.

Yandy is a very savvy business woman who has been working in the music industry for years.  During the second season of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, Yandy was introduced to viewers as rapper Jim Jones’ manager.  Although the two have since had a falling out, Yandy has proven that her success was not dependent upon Jones.

1. Yandy Smith stays away from drama.

Although she is part of a reality TV cast that is well-known for drama and throwing drinks, Yandy has managed to stay away from most of the messy behavior associated with Love and Hip Hop.
